Trivia: During filming, several of the actors portraying USS Dallas crewmen took a cruise on a real submarine. To train for his role as the Dallas' commander, Scott Glenn was installed as the "commander" of the real sub and gave orders to the crewmen as the real captain would. (more)
Goofs: Continuity: When Ryan is flow to the carrier, the interior shot is a C-2 COD, carrier-onboard-delivery aircraft. The exterior shot of the aircraft landing on the deck is the more common E-2 Hawkeye. (more)
